Arevik Khchoian, born in 2001, Armenia, graduated from the D. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology in Moscow with a specialist degree (equivalent to BSc+MSc) in Medicinal Chemistry, ranking first in her department. During the final four years of her studies, she worked at the Institute of Organoelement Compounds of the Russian Academy of Sciences, where she synthesized organic fluorophores for bioimaging and singlet oxygen detection, and studied their photochemical properties. After graduating in 2024, Arevik started working at the Research Institute for Systems Biology and Medicine. There, she synthesized peptides for mass spectrometry–based proteomics and drug development using automated Fmoc solid-phase peptide synthesis. In May 2025, Arevik joined the group of Prof. Minnaard at University of Groningen to work on a PhD research project focused on site-selective chemical and enzymatic carbohydrate modification.
